Contract Research and Analytical Services
A. Contract Research
Selim Laboratories provide
contract research, method development, and non-routine analytical services to
pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and agrochemical industries requiring compliance
with national and international quality standards, such as Good Laboratory
Practices (GLPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), or International
Standard Organization (ISO 17025). Examples of such services include:
- Analysis of active
pharmaceutical ingredients (API), impurities profiles, and related compounds
using GC/MS and HPLC/MS/MS
- Extraction, separation, and
purification of API, reactive or thermally unstable compounds, using
supercritical fluid extraction and supercritical fluid chromatography
combined with mass spectrometric SFE/SFC/MS techniques.
- Metabolism and environmental
fate studies for product development, registration, and commercialization of
agrochemicals and consumer products.
- Exposure assessment studies for
product registration and data recall under the U.S. Federal Insecticide,
Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). Expertise in conducting
occupational exposure studies in agricultural and industrial settings,
including dermal, inhalation, and total body exposure to hazardous chemicals
(e.g. pesticides, biocides, fungicides, disinfectants, and well as heavy
metals).
B. Analytical Services
Selim
Laboratories provide routine analytical services in several areas of
environmental, food and feed analysis, and abused drug testing. These analytical services follow the
approved protocols of relevant agencies or organizations, such as the
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Association of Official Analytical
Chemists (AOAC), and the guidelines of
the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of the
United States Department of Health and Human Services, respectively. These routine
analytical services include:
- Analysis of pesticides and their breakdown products in food, water, and
air samples. This includes organochlorines, organophosphates, carbamates, 2,4-D’s, and pyrthrines.
- Analysis of mycotoxin in raw agricultural commodities, cereals, and
animal feed. This includes aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, vomitoxin (deoxynivalenol),
T-2 toxin, diacetoxyscirpenol, fumonisins, and zearalenones.
- Analysis of abused drug and their metabolites. This includes
marijuana, cocaine, opiates, barbiturates, amphetamines, phencyclidine, benzodiazepines,
gamma hydroxybutyrate, and other substances.
